The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) is a state mandated test that measures student mastery of the statewide curriculum in Reading at Grades 3-8; in Writing at Grades 4 and 7; in Mathematics at Grades 3-8; in Science at Grades 5 and 8; and Social Studies at Grade 8. STAAR End of Course (EOC) tests are administered to students enrolled in the following high school courses: Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, and U.S. History.

Satisfactory performance on 8th grade Math and Reading STAAR tests is a prerequisite to grade promotion. Satisfactory performance on all five STAAR EOC tests is prerequisite to high school graduation in Texas.

Additionally, the SAT will be administered to all 11th graders on April 23, 2019 at no cost to students.

High school students taking AP exams have been informed of the testing schedule for those assessments. They will take place between May 6 and May 17, 2019.
